Azerbaijan organized elections in open and acceptable manner - Chair of Russian Federation Council Committee

"The election process was very interesting for me," Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Grigory Karasin said, who observed the extraordinary presidential elections in Azerbaijan, APA reports.

"I am proud to participate in the presidential elections in Azerbaijan as an observer," he added.

Grigory Karasin spoke about the observation process at the polling stations: "My personal opinion is that the elections were organized in an open and acceptable manner. Our observers participated in the elections in about 9 polling stations in Baku and witnessed that the behavior of the election organizers was in order. Most importantly, I saw joy in the eyes of the people. I saw this. I think this is a crucial detail for the essence of the election."

The Russian observer emphasized that it is important for the election process to be held in large halls from comfort standpoint: "The official statement of the observers from the CIS countries will be released in a few days. In that statement, the observers will share their opinions about the election process."
