Nikol Pashinyan: Armenia, Azerbaijan already have control package for peace treaty

This is a really important moment for our region to take what has already been agreed upon. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this in his address at the Yerevan Dialogue 2024 international forum Tuesday—and referring to the draft of the peace treaty with Azerbaijan.
Pashinyan noted that Armenia and Azerbaijan already have more than a control package for the peace treaty.
"We propose to put the 13+3 clauses of the agreement on the table, sign [it] now as a "peace treaty" and proceed to the discussion of further issues. I hope this distinguished audience will agree that there has never been any treaty anywhere that addresses and resolves all issues; there is no such treaty. Even if we examine with 20.50 articles, there will still be articles that will remain unresolved in the given treaty. There are no countries whose relations are normalized by a single treaty," the Armenian PM noted.
Pashinyan stressed that it is very important to lay the foundation or not reject the foundation that has already been laid as a result of their several years of negotiations.
"I hope that in the near future we will have an opportunity to sign the already agreed part of the peace treaty and proceed to the remaining negotiations to resolve further issues," added the Armenian premier.
