On October 4, the 55th meeting of Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of CIS member states took place in Astana, Kazakhstan, with the participation of Head of the State Security Service of Azerbaijan Colonel-General Ali Naghiyev, APA reports citing SSS.
Initially, the heads of delegations were received by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Later, the Council's meeting commenced.
During the meeting, speeches focused on the external influences on the security of CIS countries and the threats faced by member states, particularly the effectiveness of joint efforts against international terrorism and religious extremism. Comprehensive exchanges of views were held on these topics.
Additionally, in-depth discussions were held on the key tasks facing security organizations in combating negative phenomena and the measures that should be implemented in the future.
