The final consultations on the candidacy were held today at the majority meeting in the office of "Georgian Dream". After the consultations, a meeting of the political council of the party was held, where they agreed on the candidacy of Mikheil Kavelashvili.
Mikheil Kavelashvili's candidacy was presented by Bidzina Ivanishvili at the press conference.
The presidential elections will be held on December 14, and the inauguration will be held on December 29.
The presidential elections will start at 09:00 on December 14 in the Georgian Parliament building. At least 30 members of the electoral college have the right to nominate a candidate for the presidency of Georgia. In the first round of elections, the candidate who receives at least two-thirds of the votes of the full composition of the electoral college will be considered elected. If the president of Georgia is not elected in the first round, the second round will be held on the same day and the candidate who receives more votes will be considered elected.
