"Ukraine will only be ready for negotiations if the borders in effect as of February 23, 2022, are restored," the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak said, APA reports citing strana.ua.
He noted that this step could be a turning point in the settlement of the conflict: "Productive negotiations are only possible if both sides demonstrate an intention to cease military operations. Furthermore, our country's borders must be restored to the state they were in as of February 23, 2022, as part of Ukraine was occupied by that date."
Note that earlier, official Kyiv had demanded the restoration of the country's borders as they existed in 1991.
