Four years pass since Armenia's missile attack on Azerbaijan's Barda

Four years have passed since the missile attack of the Armenian armed forces on Barda, APA reports.

The Armenian armed forces shelled Barda City on October 5 during the Patriotic War that began on September 27, 2020, and lasted for 44 days. The fragments of a rocket that struck the central streets of Barda and near the Central District Hospital resulted in the deaths of 2 people and injuries to 6 others, causing significant damage to civilian infrastructure.

Note that during the Patriotic War, Armenian armed forces attacked Barda five times. On October 5, 8, 27, and 28, as well as November 7, the Barda district was shelled with various weapons, rockets, and banned cluster bombs, resulting in the deaths of 29 residents and injuries to 112 others. Among the deceased, 2 were children, 8 were women, and 19 were men.
On the morning of October 5, 2020, Azerbaijan's second-largest city came under missile attack from Armenia's Berd region. The missiles hit the Ganja International Hospital, the secondary school No. 34, a furniture factory on Shah Ismayil Khatai Street, the so-called Yevlax bus station, and the central market. As a result, three civilians were hospitalized with various injuries, and civilian infrastructure was severely damaged.

During the Second Karabakh War, the Armenian armed forces attacked Ganja five times (October 4, 5, 8, 11, 17) with missiles and heavy artillery. As a result, 26 people were killed, 175 were injured, and civilian infrastructure and vehicles in the city were severely damaged.

On October 5, the Armenian armed forces fired two missiles at the city of Beylagan. One of the shells hit the yard of a kindergarten, and the other one hit an empty area in the city.

On the morning of October 5, 2020, along with Barda, Ganja, and Beylagan, the enemy's armed forces fired on densely populated areas in Goranboy, Goygol, and Tartar districts.

Armenia committed another war crime by violating the requirements of the Geneva Conventions and firing on the civilian population.

In total, during the Patriotic War, Armenia shelled not only Ganja and Barda but also Yevlakh, Beylagan, Tartar, Gabala, Goranboy, Aghjabadi, Khizi, and other cities and regions with ballistic missiles and other heavy artillery systems. As a result of these military aggressions, 93 civilians were killed, including 12 children and 27 women, while 454 civilians were injured.

In total, 12,292 residential and non-residential areas, as well as 288 vehicles were damaged.

A criminal case has been initiated in accordance with the relevant articles of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code regarding all these facts.
