NGO Director: Many countries, primarily the US, are trying to avoid their climate finance commitments

"Many countries, primarily the US, are trying to avoid their climate finance commitments," Director of the Power Shift Non-Governmental OrganizationMohamed Adow, who participated in the discussions on climate finance, said, APA reports.

He added that all participating countries should take advantage of the historic opportunity that has arisen for an agreement:

"The agreement of the parties is very important for us. Many countries, primarily the US, are trying to avoid their commitments. We must not allow the Baku process to fail. Therefore, we must take advantage of this historic opportunity. Wealthy countries must also consider that we will not agree to any unfavorable text. I also want to say that until an agreement is reached, we have no intention of leaving. We believe that if no agreement is reached, the world will lose a lot, and the responsibility for that will fall on it. Sufficient funds must be allocated to support all countries' efforts in combating climate change. The truth is that we do not and will not agree with the proposed scale. More funds are needed to fight climate change."
