Azerbaijan prevents Shovket Alakbarova's song "Yar gəldi yar" to be presented as Armenian music

The Intellectual Property Agency of Azerbaijan has investigated the fact about the song "Yar gəldi yar" - performed by the famous Azerbaijani singer, People's Artist of Azerbaijan Shovket Alakbarova, which its music is by Adil Gera and lyrics are by Ali Karim - being posted on the "YouTube" page as a sample of Armenian music, the Agency told APA.

The song " Yar gəldi yar" performed by Shovket Alakbarova was posted on the "YouTube" page called "BehrooZ Abshar" on September 4, 2016 under the "require" "Armenian Music, (Turkish language) Music 15. (rare) Music 17. Shovket Alakbarova (rare)".

It was noted that the song "Yar gəldi yar" was recorded on April 16, 1957, performed by Shovket Alakbarova, with conductorship of People's Artist of Azerbaijan Said Rustamov and accompanied by the Folk Instrument Ensemble orchestra.

“The duration of the recording (time frame) is 4.33 seconds. It is stored in the “Golden Fund” of AzTV with the code number 13313. The management of Shovket Alakbarova’s property rights on Youtube is carried out by Mikpro LLC, which operates in this field in Baku.

Therefore, as a result of the measures taken by the Intellectual Property Agency with the involvement of Mikpro LLC, the video, which violated Shovket Alakbarova’s rights as a performer, was removed from the "BehrooZ Abshar" page on YouTube.

Thus, the violation of Shovket Alakbarova’s rights as a performer was confirmed by the YouTube administration and her violated rights were restored," the statement emphasized.
