Russia hopes to fully restore partnership with Armenia within the framework of the CSTO, the Spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, said during a briefing held today, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
According to Zakharova, Armenia remains “de jure” a full member of the CSTO. She emphasized that this is an irreplaceable mechanism for ensuring peace and stability in the South Caucasus: "Armenia retains all relevant rights and obligations. We hope that, in the interests of the future security of our friendly country and even the entire region, our partnership with Armenia within the CSTO will be fully restored."
Zakharova added that at the current stage, the doors remain open for Armenia to return to full-scale cooperation with the CSTO: "We expect our Armenian partners to dispel doubts and resume joint work."
