Who makes the most money from real estate in Russia? - Azerbaijanis in the top ten
As in previous years, the company that made the most money from renting out real estate in Russia last year was the Kyiv Ploshchad company, headed by Zarakh Iliev and God Nisanov, natives of Azerbaijan.
Yeniavaz.com reports, information about this was included in the report “Kings of Real Estate of Russia”, prepared by the Russian-language editors of Forbes magazine, one of the world’s leading publications.
The report notes that the annual profit of the Kyiv Ploshchad company, owned by our compatriots, from leasing real estate amounted to $1 billion 760 million. Compared to last year, their rental income increased by $160 million.
It is worth noting that this income was received from the Evropeisky shopping center (180 thousand sq. m) and the Food City cooperative (930 thousand sq. m) owned by them. Currently, the Kievskaya Ploshchad company has shopping centers with a total area of 2,254,000 square meters, office space of 148,000 square meters, warehouses of 348,000 square meters and hotels with 1,550 rooms.
For information, God Nisanov was born in 1966, and Zarakh Iliev was born in 1972 in the Guba region (Kyrmyzy village).
Another Azerbaijani, the owner of the Crocus Group company Araz Agalarov, was included in the top ten “kings of Russian real estate.” Last year, Araz Agalarov increased his rental income by $15 million and moved up to 7th place with income of $255 million.
It is worth noting that the real estate owned by Araz Agalarov includes Crocus Expo (1 million 40 thousand square meters) and the Vegas shopping center (480 thousand square meters), located on Kashira Avenue in Moscow. In addition, Agalarov has a hotel with 225 rooms and a shopping center with an area of 781,000 square meters.
Samvel Karapetyan, a businessman of Armenian origin, took 2nd place in the “Kings of Real Estate” report, as in 2022.
It should also be noted that in 2022, the income of Zarakh Iliev and God Nisanov was $1 billion more than the income of second-place Samvel Karapetyan, while last year this difference increased to $1 billion 120 million.
