3rd Meeting of Heads of Space Agencies of OTS started its work

The third meeting of Heads of Space Agencies of the Organization of Turkic States has begun, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan told APA.

According to the information, the meeting was held within the framework of the Space Technology Conference (STC2024) which is held for the third time with the participation of the space players of the Central Asia region.

The meeting, hosted by the Turkish Space Agency, is attended by Azerbaijan, Turkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, which are members of the Turkic States Organization, and observer country Hungary.

The aim is to support joint projects between Turkish states in the space sector and to determine joint activity directions to improve mutual relations. At the forefront of the meeting's agenda was the importance of cooperation for the consistency of space activity.

In his speech at the meeting, Samad Asadov, the chairman of Azercosmos, emphasizing the importance of our country being represented by the space representatives of the Turkic states at the International Astronautical Congress held in Baku, noted our readiness to continue joint efforts in the fields of science, business, and innovation in the space arena.

Additionally, the cosmic community attending the meeting has been invited to the COP29 climate conference to be held in Azerbaijan this year.

Further, the development of practical platforms to increase research and progress in space issues related to the integration and exchange of science in universities was brought to attention

The meeting continued with the meeting of experts working in the space field in the format of working groups.
