Yeniavaz.com reports with reference to published official statistics, over the past year the number of sheep and goats decreased by 8.9% or 705.2 thousand heads. Thus, at the beginning of November 2022, there were 7 million 928.4 thousand sheep and goats in the country.
It should also be noted that over the past 5 years a sharper decline in the number of sheep and goats has been recorded. Compared to the beginning of November 2019, the number of sheep and goats decreased by 14.5%.
The number of sheep and goats counted in November of the last 5 years was as follows:

- In November 2019 – 8 million 451.9 thousand heads.
- In November 2020 – 8 million 308.6 thousand heads.
- In November 2021 – 8 million 197.3 thousand heads.
