Today, the Baku Declaration on the management of water resources will be adopted, Jason Morrison, head of the UN Global Compact's Water Mandate, told journalists, APA reports.
"When we talk about mitigating the effects of climate change, we see that we are not moving fast enough, our ambitions are not high enough and the results are still not in line with the targets set. At the same time, we increasingly recognize the importance of adapting to climate change and building resilience. At this and subsequent conferences, water and climate change adaptation will be the main topics of discussion and will be accompanied by a global adaptation action program. I hope that we will continue to develop the Baku Declaration, which will be published today, and we will strengthen this momentum at the next conference to be held in Brazil next year," he said.
