EBRD announces size of its investment portfolio in Azerbaijan

The volume of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) asset portfolio in Azerbaijan decreased by 2.4% or 22 million euros compared to the previous month, amounting to 871 million euros as of October 31 this year, EBRD told APA-Economics.

The number of active projects implemented increased from 30 to 31.

It was noted that 91% (792 million euros) of the portfolio is investments in sustainable infrastructure, 6% (49 million euros) are investments in industry, trade and agribusiness, and 3% (30 million euros) are investments in financial institutions. The volume of the bank's operational assets in the country increased by 0.3% and amounted to 666 million euros.

Thus, to date, the EBRD has invested €3.724 billion in Azerbaijan under 190 projects, and 83.5% of this amount (€3.124 billion) has already been absorbed by borrowers. 26% of the total investments have been made by the private sector.
