Russian citizens injured in Aktau plane crash to be transported to Moscow

Russian citizens injured in the plane crash in Kazakhstan will be transported to Moscow by Il-76 aircraft, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) said, Report informs.

The decision was made based on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Emergency Situations Minister Alexander Kurenkov.

“A special aircraft of the Russian MES has flown from Moscow to Aktau and will carry out medical evacuation of Russian citizens injured in the passenger plane crash that was flying from Baku to Grozny,” the statement said.

According to the ministry, the injured will be accompanied by doctors from the Russian MES rescue team, psychologists from the Russian MES Emergency Psychological Assistance Center, and a group of specialists from the Russian Ministry of Health.

On December 25, an AZAL Embraer aircraft flying from Baku to Grozny crashed near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan. Of the 67 people on board, 42 were citizens of Azerbaijan, 16 of Russia, 6 of Kazakhstan, and 3 of Kyrgyzstan.
