AYNA: Removal of road signs on COP29 lanes has begun

The special COP29 traffic lanes, organized as part of the transportation arrangements for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, successfully hosted by Azerbaijan, facilitated efficient transportation operations, ensuring the unhindered, safe, and timely arrival of participants to the event venues. In total, over 600,000 passengers were transported during the event, Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) told APA-Economics.

It was noted that the lanes, which were specifically created for COP29 transportation operations and were not part of the general public transport network, will cease to be operational after the conclusion of the event. For this purpose, AYNA has begun removing road signs indicating the 5.9 bus lanes and erasing the markings in these lanes. It was emphasized that lanes where the signs have been removed will no longer be considered active. The removal of the relevant signs will be continued until November 25.
