The total assets of active banks increased by 1.1% to reach AZN 49,697.8 million during the period from January to October of this year. At the beginning of the year, this figure was AZN 49,178.2 million, APA-Economics reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
The total liabilities of the sector during this period amounted to AZN 43,254.6 million, while the equity capital stood at AZN 6,443.2 million.
The growth of the loan portfolio continued in October of the current year. In the reporting month, the loan portfolio of banks increased by 1.4% or AZN 374.6 million, reaching AZN 27,080.5 million. Of the loan portfolio, 54% (AZN 14,628.1 million) consisted of business loans, 30.6% were consumer loans (AZN 8,277.8 million), and 15.4% were mortgage loans.
